Ming’s Patio
ABOUT PROJECT
The idea for this restaurant was to bring the feeling of being outdoors into the dining space.
Greenery runs throughout the restaurant, along with water bodies and a waterfall that adds a soft, calming sound in the background. A combination of wooden and MS rafters, covered with glass, allows natural light to come through while keeping the space cool and protected.
The material palette was kept earthy and natural. Rough stone floor, wood and green granite tabletops all work together with the surrounding plants and water.
The play of sunlight through the rafters, the movement of water and all the greenery make the space feel open and relaxed — almost like sitting outside, while still being indoors.
The complete space, including its concept, interior, furniture and details, was designed during a tenure at Habitt.
